A CONVERSATION WITH LENNI'S HUMAN
How has Lenni changed your life?
She has changed my life in every way! Lenni is a constant reminder in my life to be happy. She is the happiest dog I have ever met and the most resilient! She reminds me every day to be grateful and happy!
What's your favorite memory with Lenni?
My favorite memory was of her meeting her sister! Lenni was found on the streets in mexico. I was able to bring her back home to LA. when she met her sister Maya, we were a little nervous of how they would get along but watching Lenni completely fall in love with Maya and having her become her favorite in the house was so wonderful to see.
What's the most important lesson Lenni has taught you?
She has taught me to look at the positives in life and she reminds me everyday to stay grounded and grateful. Shes the best when she just sits outside and smells the fresh air with her eyes close facing the sun.
How do you celebrate and make special moments with Lenni?
I specially like to celebrate Lenni when she does dog things haha. when she came to us she was very very small and likely missed very important developmental milestones with her mom so things that dogs typically learn from their mom, she did not. so she doesnt 'dog' like most dogs. watching her learn from her sister and lean into her insticts is always a celebration! and anytime she overcomes her anxiety and finds out something new she likes, its so fun to watch. we like to clap and say her name when she does something great and that makes her very happy and excited! we also, of course, celebrate her birthday every year!
How has Lenni helped you through challenging times?
Anytime i have felt sad lenni is there. she instantly knows when im not okay and does her best to help. whether thats liking my face or just laying in bed next to me. shes always there.
